You are not likely to find anything worth playing for that little; however, if you can find a used Applause AE40, they are going for under $300, and I’m very happy with the fretless one I bought.      I picked up a converted-to-fretless (well done, I must admit) Honer, >with a Guild Hardshell case, for $200.

The new Hohner acoustic for about $350 new (street price). Next the fender BG-29 for about $650.  Both better than anything else in the price range.                      Don

Saw one for $300. in a music store in Fullerton, with crack ribs and scratch face, but a good luthier should be able to fix that stuff. So you Ideal $300. is not out of reach… ~Ricardo        http://dev.scoop.com:8080

If you mean an acoustic Bass Guitar, you can get a VERY good one for about $350. Look for the Hohner. REALLY GOOD! NExt up is a Fender BG29 for about $650.                            Don
