It’s been a long haul getting here, Rob… I’ve been collecting and upgrading gear for years, waiting for the right place to put it. Thanks for the good thoughts! Feel free to stop on by for a brew! ;-) Corey

Ouch! Yeah, that is definitely a potential problem when the studio’s in the basement. Luckily, I have all the gear insured properly… man was that a pretty penny, but worth it. Of course, you can only get Flood Insurance if you’re in a known Flood Plain, which I’m not. Corey

Great news. Post pics, equipment list, reasons for design/layout, etc. I am not going to Minneapolis anytime soon, but (a) Advertise what you’ve got going on there, (b) Motivate some of us.

www.curbsideproductions.com should start getting some pictures and such… it’s just a small two room studio right now, but we’ll see where it takes us. Let’s see, gear list… that I can do: Console: Behringer MX-9000 Eurodesk (24×8) Recording Media: Alesis HD24 Hard Disk recorder & AMD Athlon 1700 Mhz PC running Sonar 1.06 (Can’t afford to upgrade quite yet! lol) loaded with and Audiophile 2496 sound card, 240 Gig of HD Space, GeForce 2 vid card running 64 meg of memory, and 1 gig of DDR 2700 memory. Basic tracking happens on the Alesis, then gets imported to the Athlon for mixing/mastering. Shortly: 1 BRC for the Alesis… Down payment has been made, just have to pay it off and pick it up! 2 Behringer Multicom Pro-XL 4-channel compressors 1 Behringer Multigate Pro 4-channel gate Four 48-point patch bays 1 Yamaha R100 Effects processor (Outboard reverb) 1 ART Tube Pac Mic Preamp/Compressor 1 ART Tube Preamp 1 Johnson J-Station v2 guitar modeler/preamp 1 Behringer V-Amp guitar modeler/preamp 1 Rane 4-channel headphone amp 2 Sampson 4-channel headphone amps 7 Sennheiser HD-202 headphones 2 Sony MDR-V600 headphones 2 AKG K-240M headphones 1 AKG K-240DF headphones 1 Peavey 4C Power amp, set up to drive the AKG Headphones. 2 Nakamichi MR2 cassette decks 1 Phillips CDR/RW 1 Lite-On CDR/RW 1 Toshiba DVDR/RW Monitoring is handled by Alesis Monitor MKII nearfield monitors, with a 12" Focal subwoofer handling extended bottom end. Crossover point is around 85 hertz or so. Alesis RA-300 drives the Alesis Monitors Yamaha 500 watt mono block amplifier handles the 12" sub. Hmm… mic list… well, here’s a start: 2 Shure Beta 87 vocal mics 2 Shure Beta 58 vocal mics 6 Shure Beta 56 instrument mics 1 Shure Beta 52 Kick/Bass Guitar Mic 4 Shure SM58 vocal mics 5 Shure SM57 instrument mics 4 Shure SM98A instrument mics 4 AT M-1000 condensor mics 2 CAD E-100 condensor mics 1 MXL 990 condensor mic 1 EV RE-20 vocal/instrument/kick mic 1 EV 757 vocal mic 3 Sennheiser 441’s 1 GT Tube Microphone (I can’t remember the model number) a bunch of other stuff I can’t remember I don’t have any AKG 414’s because I think they sound harsh. I don’t have any AKG C-1000’s because I don’t like the midrange bump. I don’t have any AKG C-3000’s because they finally died a painful death. I don’t have any Neumann’s because the neighborhood I live in isn’t THAT good! lol We also have a vintage Sonor drum kit from the early to mid-60’s (4 piece), an early 80’s Gretsch kit (11 piece), a Yamaha Power-V (5 piece) and a DW (4 piece) with integrated Beta 52 kick mic (so, I guess I actually have TWO Beta 52’s!). On top of that, I have a number of musical instruments hanging on the walls… a Yamaha 6-string classical guitar that sound really nice, a Strat copy that gets the job done, and access to one of the country’s largest backline suppliers set of vintage gear for an boutique needs that could run in (Fender Twins, Marshall stacks, Rhodes pianos, SVT’s, you name it!). I can do short runs of CD replication (up to 100 CD’s) with printing directly on the CD’s for a very reasonable price (not in-house, but close enough!), and have ‘on-staff’ a graphic designer who’s resume includes being the Art Director on the 2002 Harley Davidson Annual Book. Can’t think of anything else right now, but we just got done rehearsing, so… Off to bed I go! Thanks for the interest!

Finally, after 8 months of depression I feel better. I am on the right amount of med’s. I am currentlyu taking 600 mg of lithium and 300mg. of wellburtin. I have always been opposed to antidepresents, but I know realize I need to take them. Wellburtin is the only one I have tried and it is working for me. The only side affect that seems to be bothering me is my short term memory, no weight gain, no loss of sexual interest. As we all know things can change quickly but for now I am enjoying most of my day.
Response:
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Don’t tell me that it will take 8mos to get away from this depression and pain. I am taking the exact same amount and drugs you are as of last week. I am in so much emotional pain and turmoil at the moment..to even think I have 8 mos of this is almost unbearable. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Finally, after 8 months of depression I feel better. It took me eight months to recover because i was mostly hypo manic last fall, and then i had a manic breakthru over the holidays. So hang in there. It could take you less time to respond to the med’s. Good luck and keep in touch.
