I’ve got a cd called "pulp fusion, return to the tough side" – it’s all 70’s funk fusion stuff. there’s a track with levin on it by some dude called "o’donel levy" and it goes off! called "bad bad simba". man this cd is worth it just for that track, although it does have some great 70’s funk moments on it, dudes like herbie hancock, grover washington jnr, bob james.. all in all a great compilation. cheers, tc. .

I don’t know if you’d call it finer but there’s some interesting stuff he played on Jeff Golub’s "Out of the Blue" cd. Bud

My favorite Tony Levin is King Crimson Discipline album. You can hear his low string and the Chapman stick.

I’ve got two Bozzio Levin Stevens CDs that are really good. "Black Light Syndrome" and "Situation Dangerous".
Response:
Try Liquid Tension Exerperiment. It Has Petrucci on Guitar and Portnoy on drums as well as Rudes on key. Exellent Prog Rock. The playing is just awesome all around. the composisions are really good too. I recomend the 2nd one as it is more refined.

His playing is easier to hear and more firey on some the King Crimson recordings. I recommend "Discipline" or even better, the live album "Absent Lovers".

I like his solo stuff, particularly his live cd "Double Espresso." I also like the work he did with John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess and Mike Portnoy (all of Dream Theater) on "Liquid Tension Experiment" and "Liquid Tension Experiment 2." (These two cd’s came out before Jordan Rudess joined DT when Dereck Sherinian was still the keys player).
