Cool – thanks Dude. They seem to have loads to choose from. There seem to be a few A to Z books of bass guitars (manufacturers, history etc), that’s really what I was after. Regards Anna — AOL / ICQ / iChat: annabassand (AIM) http://home1.stofanet.dk/bassbabe/

Hi I’ve been through quite a few different "learner books" but was wondering if anyone can recommend a good book on bass guitars? History, players, makers etc. I wouldn’t mind having something like A to Z of bass guitars and impressive players… I am sure there must be something like this, but I’ve never really been looking for any. Also are there any bass related books (of any kind) you’d STRONGLY recommend a fellow bass player to look at? Regards Anna — AOL / ICQ / iChat: annabassand (AIM) http://home1.stofanet.dk/bassbabe/

Probably the best book I’ve come across covering the history of the bass guitar is "How the Fender Bass Changed the World" by Jim Roberts. It’s not entirely about Fender basses, and covers pre-fender history and quite a lot of the other manufacturers as well. It also mentions most of the pivotal players. — Derek — Many Hands – Trans Cultural Music from Aotearoa/New Zealand http://www.manyhands.co.nz/

Thanks – that’s good to know. There seem to be a lot of books on Fender and I’ve always wanted to know which one was "the best"
