DI box for bass?
Question:
I use a POD for guitar recording and I’d like a similar box for bass recording. I know there is a bass pod but it’s a tad pricey and may be a bit much for me. What are the alternatives out there? Darren King

I hear raves about the Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver which sells for less than $200 and has been around for awhile so you should be able to find a used one. Other than that, I think the cheaper multi-effects boxes work as well (Zoom 708, Korg AB-1… I think those are the right names). I have the Sansamp Bass Driver DI and it’s great. I love running it with phantom power. One cable for both power and audio! If only the Bass Pod could do such a thing!Very warm sound and very little hiss even with active pickups (Ibanez SR-480).
