Ibanez Ergodyne? What's the big deal?
Question:
I would like to gripe about a certain new bass guitar out there, it’s the Ibanez Ergodyne, (this whole thing is the reason that the SRS are going to fade Out), this bass beside the humbuckers, is the exact same thing as the SR to me except the horns are a little more blunt, I would like to know anybody’s opinion on this bass in comparison to the Soundgears because (call me weird) they look and feel a lot like the SR series. Thanks for your time, Scott…

From what I gather, they are not made out of wood but some man made substance…not graphite like Steinberger, but some other type of stuff. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I would like to gripe about a certain new bass guitar out there, it’s > the Ibanez Ergodyne, (this whole thing is the reason that the SRS are going to > fade Out), this bass beside the humbuckers, is the exact same thing as the SR > to me except the horns are a little more blunt, I would like to know anybody’s > opinion on this bass in comparison to the Soundgears because (call me weird) > they look and feel a lot like the SR series. > Thanks for your time, > Scott…

The body is made out of a new "revolutionary" material called Luthite. It’s freakin heavy but the bass has good sustain and is comfy to play cause of it’s contoured body. They are fairly similar to the SR’s especially in the neck. GREAT necks. Fast and flying. The bass was reviewed by Bass Player a while back and they said it was good. Had a dark slap tone like from the 70’s Stanley Clarke stuff. The complaint they had was that the neck pickup was too close to the fingerboard for easy popping. Ibanez came out with a new model a little while ago (quite recently actually) and it looks like a beauty and looks really easy to play. Don’t believe me though, go check out the new model. mike http://www.ibanez.com/edb_series.html – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I would like to gripe about a certain new bass guitar out > there, it’s > the Ibanez Ergodyne, (this whole thing is the reason that the SRS are > going to > fade Out), this bass beside the humbuckers, is the exact same thing as > the SR > to me except the horns are a little more blunt, I would like to know > anybody’s > opinion on this bass in comparison to the Soundgears because (call me > weird) > they look and feel a lot like the SR series. > Thanks for your time, > Scott…
