IBANEZ SR506
Question:
i use an ibanez tr expressionist (5-string)..i love it..i bought it about 5 months ago and it has changed the way i play.
Response:
I guess I have to add my name to the list. I play a SR800 and It’s, by far, the best that I’ve played. It has a great neck that is really smaller and a lot lighter than most basses. In one word: Awesome! — Pete Ocampo http://weber.u.washington.edu/~pocampo

Hey fellow Ibanez supporters; I’m looking into a 6-string SR (506 or 406) Would you know where to get a good deal on one of these? I currently have a Sr400 and love it; the sound blows away my Ovation and Peavy. thanx! rico de bass rico de bass http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/palladium/1119 http://www.inquo.net/~enclosure (netscape preferred)
Response:
I play a modified SR505. I had the varimed preamp put in it. I also changed to a Wilkinson Bridge, and replaced the neck after it got warped. (stupid roommate left the windos open during a rain storm, never did get the neck to straighten back out) I love this bass, Ican get tones ranging from Geddy Lee type growl to Victor Wooten like Brightness. It is a reallly felxible instrument. I love to play R&B mixed in with some really heavier music. (ala Infectious Grooves) I can not get over how many people bash Ibanez basses. They are good Instruments that are really affordable.

I play 4 bass, (all at once too), I have the Ibanez CT Series natural with active pickups and great action, plays good live, recording has its limits, also have 75′ p-bass, 97′ Jazz bass (50th annv.) and an acoustic washburn. Hello Ibanez-fans out there!! Actually, I wasn’t among you until last year when i bought my black 5 string ATK305. I play a lot with horn sections and the bass parts often contained Eb, D, Db and C. It takes some getting used to, and you have to practice damping strings a lot, but now it feels great! You can play almost anything from the third to the 8th fret! So, why the ATK? I immediately *LOVED* it’s look, great playability, great sound, and *INCREDIBLE* value for money. Like a Music Man Stingray for about half the price. I’m also interested why people don’t like the ATK. Serious comments only please, not "ATK sucks. Bye". Thank you. See you, Theo van Heugten

i don’t like the atk because i "need" a 24 positions neck. poor me. lc p.s. but, by the way, my main bass is still a modified Soundgear 1500…
