Software drum machines – Do they exist?

Question:

www.wholenote.com and use the "groove generator" and it has a built in drum machine and all…

Response:

Yes that was what I was going to say mate. www.wholenote.com and go to the groove builder section. You will have to sign up but it is free. It adds bass guitar and drums and you can change the tempo and tell it which chord progressions you wish to play. excellent for helping your timing and chord changes.

If you have Band in a Box, you have the best in software drum machines, just mute, the bass, piano, guitar, strings, melody, soloist, and keep the drums going. With all the stlyes in BIB there are alot more drum patterns then a regular drum machine. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I’m thinking about getting a drum machine to play with when I practice. > It’d be more interesting than my metronome.  I’m curious if anyone knows of > a software drum machine?  I’ve searched for hours and I’ve only found > programs like Fruity Loops where it’s more for techno loops then classic > drum patterns.  I have Band in a Box but that’s more for playing songs.  I’m > looking for something I can just set the style & tempo and then turn it on > and leave it on while I practice.  Any ideas? > -michael

Digitech sells these multi effect pedals and one of the features are drum loops that you can play along with. I don’t have one myself but will be looking at them next week. See http://www.digitech.com/ for more details. Let me know how you like it if you try it out. Mitch
