aww shucks
It’s quite interesting to have a bass player in the Audience. i kinda knew who you were when you arrived but wasn’t sure so it wasn’t like nerves or anything… But it’s still strange that someone on AGB has heard me live.. Always thought i could hide in the anominity and pretend i’m much better than i am – no more!

hey. Just to check in with you guys since i’ve been quite busy. Last night of the musical tonight. should be a good one
Last night i found out during the interval that in the audience was a bass player who had filled in on one rehearsal i couldn’t make…and he was in the 3rd row! anyway, saw him at the end of the show and he said ‘man, nice bass playing. you’re a good player and from what i hear you’re even better away from the orchestra’ so that was quite nice. turns out i had met him last year (i remembered the gig – he was backing up a local duo just after their CD launch and signed their album for me even though he didn’t play on it so we had a good laugh over that.). Anyway, was kinda strange when you know the guy has seen the charts (but doesn’t read music, when i came back there were note names scribbled all over it)… Anyway, still only hit two wrong notes in the whole show (damn key signature changes at random times) so gotta try and beat that tonight
. On top of that i’m swapping between the bass guitar and double bass scores constantly. Anyway, tonight should be fun again as AGB’s own Craig Penfold (craigles) is coming with his wife to watch the show. Hopefully he’s not disappointed. Might get him in to jam a bit after the show – try out the gear i’m using for the show (borrowed a friend’s 4×10 to try it out since i normally use a 2×12) Anyway, craig – if you see this and you’re there early you might hear a bit of Marcus Miller or something as i "soundcheck" (read as ‘jam openly with the drummer’). Looking forward to seeing you there tonight. — Sam www.wiredjazz.com —– Some say daydreamings for all those lazy-minded fools with nothing else to do… so let them laugh at us. —–
